Powerful

This was one transient Orca that was part of a pod of four others, that were working on killing a large male Stellar Sea Lion.

I have photographed Orcas several times in the past five years, but I do not think that I have ever truly appreciated the power and coordination that these creatures have.

Because they spend a lot of their time under water, I never realized how much stealth and power they have, but it was on full display as we watched them for almost two hours while they launched themselves out fo the water, landing on the doomed sea lion.

It was truly the experience of a lifetime.
