Home | Marine Mammals | Mottled
When heading on a Marine Mammals trip, you imagine that you will see mammals of the marine variety. But that’s not the case with the variety packed trip that I took in August 2015. While the marine mammals didn’t disappoint, especially the Sea Otters with babies, we were also lucky enough to see a variety of birds, including this bald eagle.
Anyone who photographs birds know that their tolerance for humans is often low, but this one allowed us to get pretty close. What I find striking about this bald eagle is that we were able to get close enough to highlight the mottling in the feathers. You can see the whites at the ends, and can see that each feather has white within it.
