Captivating

Short-eared Owls are small, but they can be just as captivating to photograph as a Black Bear or Grizzly Bear.  This one would sitting on a fence post constantly looking around for it’s next meal, and shortly after this photo it took to the air and started soaring around to find the prey.

In the one relatively small area we had counted at least ten different Short-eared Owls, and watching them all flying around one evening was really quite a spectacle.
