Great Gray

A Great Gray Owl in Southern Alberta was an accommodating test subject for me to test out my new Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM with the 2x extender. Any telephoto lens can become more useful if they work well with the Canon extenders, and the latest version of the extenders tend to work quite well.

The new 400mm f/2.8 is no exception, it produces quite sharp images, even with the 2x extender and shot wide open at f/5.6, like was done in this image.
