Experienced Climber

It’s incredible to watch a little Black Bear Cub climb a tree like they are experienced at it.  I guess they have been doing it pretty much their whole life.  Climbing trees is a way for Black Bears cubs to get out of harms way. I have also seen that the cubs climb tree while their mother sleeps at the base of the tree, it’s like putting the baby in a play pen.

We had the chance to photograph this cub and his sibling in trees several times during our trip to Jasper.
