Big Horn Sheep Fighting Butting Heads
Fighting for the Top Spot

Often when I see Big Horn Sheep in Jasper, they are licking the salt off the roads (or cars), however these guys must have been bored with that. They were using this rock and playing what looked like a game of king of the castle. One sheep would get on top of the rock, and then another sheep would approach and they would butt heads to see if they could take over the top spot.

These games went on for quite a while, over a half an hour that we watched them before moving on, and they were still going at it.
