Playing Dead

I’m lucky to have had the opportunity to spend almost an entire day photographing River Otters on a recent trip to Yellowstone National Park. I’ve heard that they are a lot of fun to photograph, but because I have never seen one before, I couldn’t judge it for myself.

Well these guys were anything but a disappointment, they came out of the water often, and crawled over each other, or rolled around in the snow. The way this image is frozen it looks like the River Otter is playing dead.
