Three Amigos

The Three Amigos, or a River Otter mom and her two curious pups stare us down from the other side of the river after they come out to warm up and take a break from the hours of fishing and feeding that we watched them do.

River otters, especially when there is more than one, might be one of the funnest species of animals to watch and photograph.  They roll around in the snow to get the water off their dense fur and increase the heating properties. They will also slide on their belly across the ice, or down hills. And they also do a little dance when the pee.  These three were no exception and provided us hours of entertainment.
