We were watching this bear for a short while, including while he dug for clams on the beach near our zodiac.

He decided to walk up towards the forest, and we assumed meant that he was going to go lay down for a nap. Instead, he started rolling around in a pile of pollen, and got up looking like this.  I really do not understand the purpose of this, whether he was trying to attract bugs to snack on while he rested, or if it kept him cool somehow, or maybe it just seemed like it would be fun.  Whatever the purpose it gave us the opportunity for a good laugh, and to grab a few “different” shots.
