Contemplation

Contemplation is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as “the action regarding steadily”, which was the first thing I thought of when I saw this image of a Grizzly Bear in the Khutzeymateen, maybe she is contemplating the beauty of her surroundings (how could you not). But, she was just waking up after an hour of slumber (or more), so it is possible that she is just trying to “wake up”.

She was one of my favorite Grizzly Bears from the Khutzeymateen, and I’m already looking forward to the end of May when I’m back there again for 7 more days in the field.
