Steller Sea Lions ganging up and coming out to greet our zodiac. This photo was taken off the northern tip of Vancouver Island, where there are several large rock haul outs that the sea lions hang out on during the summer months.
You might noticed in the camera specs that this photo was taken at a shutter speed at 1/4000, that is because these rock haul outs are located in somewhat extreme areas of open water, which means its very hard to hold your camera still while bouncing around in the zodiac like you are riding a bull at the rodeo, and luckily we had the light for a fast shutter speed.
