A coyote in the Lamar Valley was spending the late afternoon mousing in the deep snow.  I titled this image Blind Leap, because while they have an excellent ability to hear and smell little rodents moving under the snow, they still cannot be certain of their success.  They are just hoping that they come out successful, and have a snack for their efforts.

This particular Coyote seemed to be hunting in the deepest snow in all of Yellowstone at this time of year. But he was relatively successful, so I guess it is a good thing that the deep snow did not deter him.
