Home | Great Bear Rainforest | Rubbing on a Tree
Luck plays a bigger part in photography than some photographers like to admit. While in the Great Bear Rainforest in 2015, we did not get lucky with the weather, we had a lot of rain and winds that didn’t work in our favor. However our luck changed when we saw this Grizzly Bear digging roots. While watching the bear it moved along the water, looking for a place to bed down (as seen in other photos of this bear). But we got lucky when this grizzly got an itchy back and decided to stand up and rub its back on the tree. We were lucky because this was the only clear spot to see the tree and we just happened to be stopped in this one spot. A few inches in either direction and we wouldn’t have been able to get a clear photo of this.
