The first thing I noticed when looking at photos from the Fishing Grizzlies of the Taku trip last year was that this location has a lot of variation in the color of bears that come to these fishing grounds each year during the salmon run. Some of the bears had a bit of red in their fur, while others had super blond patches, and some looked just like what you would see in the Rocky Mountains.
This was probably the most unique bear (in terms of coloration) that we saw during the trip in 2016. The bear had a combination of red, blond, brown, and not to mention a very obvious brown spot surrounded by blond just above its left shoulder.
As I continue to post more images from this trip, you will see just how much variation in color there can be from one bear to the next. And if you would like to check this unique location out for yourself, there are still spots available next year, contact Brad Hill of Natural Art Images.
