For many mammals species the mother plays an important role in prepping the baby for life after her, much like humans.
This two-year old Grizzly Bear Cub is watching mom intently from the riverside while she tries to catch salmon along the Nakina River of Northern British Columbia. Given that this is likely the cubs last year with mom, I was surprised that it wasn’t doing more fishing on its own. Instead this little guy just waited anxiously on the riverbank to try to steal whatever he could of what mom caught, before mom and sibling devoured it.
