An very cute Grizzly Bear Cub in the Khutzeymateen was eating grass behind this large rock (well large is relative, large to the size of the cub, but wouldn’t have been that large compared to his mother). Occasionally it would peek out at us from behind the rock just to check us out to see what we were doing.
It was very nice how comfortable these mothers and cubs were with us. Instead of running away when we approached in the zodiac, instead they just continued going about their day.

Taken: May 31, 2017
Location: Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, British Columbia
Camera: Canon EOS 1DX Mark II
Lens: Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM + 1.4x III Extender
Focal Length: 560mm
Aperture: f/10
ISO: 1000
Exposure: 1/640
In order to get the rock and the Grizzly Bear Cub in focus I used focus stacking where I had one image where the foreground rock was in focus and one image with the cub in focus, and used auto align layers in Adobe Photoshop.
