This female Grizzly Bear found her own sanctuary for an afternoon nap in the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary. The amazing thing wasn’t that this bear was able to find solace within such a pristine, and remote, location, instead it was where she found to nap that was the amazing part. She climbed up very high rocks, even breaking her claws in the process (as you can see if you look closely at this image), and slept on a little island, which given the current tides, was actually quite high from the water. I think everyone on the trip, including the bear guide with many years in the Khuzeymateen was surprised at her actions, and at our luck.
