I have said this before, and I’m sure I will say it again, but a large part of getting the shot is being lucky, including being in the right place at the right time. As much as I would like to tell the story about how I trekked for days following the tracks of this wolf over the mountainside, the reality is – I just got lucky and happened to be in the right place at the right time.
This wolf showed no fear while watching me from the tree line while I took his photo, and to the contrary actually looked quite bold while he stared me down. I was able to grab a few shots before the wolf continued on his way.
