Grizzly Bear swimming eyeing Khutzeymateen
Got My Eye on You

This Grizzly Bear swimming by the zodiac during my 2015 trip into the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary had his eyes fully locked with ours, and wasn’t taking his eye off us for a minute. I love that you can see the white of his eye as he passed us by.

Since the bears in the Khutzeymateen haven’t been harassed and have been treated with respect throughout the years, they feel pretty comfortable around the group. And they allow us the opportunity of some close-up photos, and some are comfortable to swim right by the zodiac while we quietly (and excitedly) click away.
