This Pine Marten in the Great Bear Rainforest was quite inquisitive, and climbed up onto a fallen tree and into a mossy section to get a better look at what we were doing on the other side of the river.  We were very lucky with the spot that he picked to get a better look at us.

Pine Marten’s visit the waterways in the Great Bear Rainforest to eat the fish that have been washed up on the shore, or eat the leftovers that have been left behind by the black and spirit bears that were feeding along this stream.  It was really quite amazing to watch this little Pine Marten eat a washed up salmon that was almost as big as he was, and then move right onto the next one.
